Audio is a huge part of video. This 31-tutorial course – by video editing expert, Michael Wohl – demystifies all aspects of audio from editing to automating to adding plug-ins. Learn everything audio in Apple's Final Cut Pro X.
Back when desktop video editing was just a sparkle in every film editor's eye, Michael was busy creating Final Cut Pro. Learn Final Cut Pro from one of the original designers of this incredible piece of software!
Video editors ARE audio editors too... and the audio capabilities of Final Cut Pro X are deep and powerful. That's because Apple has deployed many of Logic Pro X's advanced plug-ins and audio processing right into FCPX!
This FCPX 10.2.X course takes you through the process of adding, editing, leveling, mixing, transitioning, EQing and processing audio in the video editing environment.
You first learn the basics of adding dialog, music and FX audio clips. Then you see Final Cut's powerful integration with iTunes and Garageband in action. From there Michael dives deep into audio editing using L-cuts and J-cuts. Next, you plunge into a series of tutorials that explains the process of getting your levels right. You learn how to interpret the meters and change levels via keyframes in the Timeline and the Inspector.
This course concludes with a collection of tutorials on panning, EQing and adding all those timesaving and audio enhancing effects.
So dig in and learn everything audio in Apple's new Final Cut Pro X.
Great course. Very practical and each new feature has a practical example with it. Thanks. Great job.

this is great to get a general view of audio. It kind of got a little simplistic in the last two sections in that it cover items that are intuitive. One of my nagging problems is understanding how to get consistent audio in a project. I wonder if there is a way to apply a plug across different clips that will provide a dynamic range or is this a manual process. Michael did suggest doing a Logic course which is a great reason to be a full time subscriber to mac pro video.

Superb course. I've never really considered much of the audio side of a video editing program before, as I spend most of my time in Logic Pro for audio. Michael clearly explains how the same plugins used in Logic are available in FCP, how to use them, and most importantly - when and why to use them (or not use them...). He introduced audio production in video concepts that I never would have considered (granted, I'm a newbie in video), but I now find invaluable and will be using in all my videos. I almost skipped it as I go through the series of FCP videos, but I'm glad I didn't!

Absolutely fantastic as always. I can't believe how good these courses are compared to other online courses. Very simple to follow along and very rewarding. I would suggest using dual monitor and having Final Cut Pro in your main window on your laptop and the course on the secondary monitor. Also play around a lot an experiment during the course.
