Elektron's Analog Four is a wild beast of a synth! Learn how to tame it in this 24-tutorial course/video manual by synth expert and electronic music performer Thavius Beck.
Thavius Beck is an electronic musician/producer/programmer as well as an electronic music educator who has worked with various artists ranging from Nine Inch Nails to Saul Williams to singer/songwriter Skylar Grey.
The Analog Four is a very deep and powerful subtractive synth/step sequencer and most electronic musicians may feel intimidated by its complex interface. But don't get discouraged! This comprehensive course by synth expert Thavius Beck shows you step by step how to master this mighty groovebox.
Thavius starts by showing you how to load and deconstruct preset patterns, and how to build your own from scratch. You discover the ins and outs of Elektron's renowned step sequencer, how to use parameter locks, sound locks, conditional locks, and how to record patterns by playing live in real time.
After explaining custom kits, managing voices and performance settings, Thavius dives head first into sound design with lots of practical examples. You learn how to create bass, lead and pluck sounds, how to use the flexible arpeggiator, and more. In closing, you learn how to turn loops into full songs with pattern chain and the powerful song mode.
So sit back and join electronic music expert Thavius Beck in this 2-hour+ exploration, and get ready to ascend into Elektron Analog Four digital/analog heaven!
Takes a really deep synth and breaks it down into really logical and understandable steps, the best tutorial I have seen on this synth.

This is great - super helpful. Could you do one on the Mk2 as well? There's some extra things not included - would be good. Maybe an add on course from this one?!

This class is fantastic. Absolutely a must if you want to get deep into this machine. the lessons are well planned and very easy to follow along. I went from a very basic understanding which showed in my programming to understanding all of the functions enabling me to produce some very interesting tracks. this course has also allowed for me to understand my other gear which is a huge bonus!

Like all his courses on Elektron machines, Thavius' s stuff is clear, well structured and full of nice tips to get quick into the machine. there is some sound design advices and the puzzle get extremely clear during the course AND at the end. The main quality of Thavius Beck is to make you feel nicely how elektron machines have much much potential.
If you want to discover the analog four MK 1 or MK 2 this 24 lessons are definitely for you.
